The Correlation between the Level of Activity Participation and Cognition Function and Age of the Elderly People living in the Community

Abstract
Objective : To conducted to investigate the correlation between the level of participation in activity and cognition of the elderly people living in the community.

Methods : This study was conducted on 31 the Community Dwelling Elderly People aged 65 or older. Data collection was performed using K-ACS, CERAD-K. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, Spearman rank-order correlation and Kruskal-Wallis variance analysis using SPSS 22.0.

Results : The level of participation in leisure activities showed a significant amount of correlation with language ability, memory of learning information, and there was no other significant correlation. Total activity participation level in overall activities all showed significant negative correlation in the activities.

Conclusion : In order to improve the level of activity participation of the elderly, various studies are required on the cognitive subfactor that affect them. It will be available as basic study for independent performance in various activities of the elderly.
